A fire broke out at the Marripalem Railway Coach Yard in Visakhapatnam. The incident occurred while an old railway coach was being cut for scrap, with the fire reportedly breaking out during welding work.
The flames quickly spread through the coach, sending thick smoke into the surrounding area. Firefighters rushed to the spot after receiving the information and launched firefighting operations.
After a strenuous effort, the fire was brought under control in time, averting a major mishap, officials said.
Authorities have preliminarily determined that the fire started during the welding work. An investigation into the incident is underway.
