Energy minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar set an example for energy conservation by travelling without an escort convoy during his tour of Addanki constituency on Friday, following Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s call for responsible fuel usage. Instead of using multiple official vehicles, the minister travelled in his own car, a move appreciated by officials and local residents as a strong message on fuel conservation and efficient use of government resources.
Speaking during the tour, Ravi Kumar urged people to adopt energy-saving practices and make greater use of alternative energy sources, especially at a time when global conflicts are putting pressure on fuel supplies and energy resources worldwide.
During his visit, the minister attended a public grievance meeting at Santamaguluru mandal, where he received petitions from residents. He also distributed Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) cheques and letters of credit worth Rs 69.16 lakh to 84 beneficiaries.
Addressing the gathering, Ravi Kumar said the state government had provided nearly Rs 1,300 crore through the CMRF over the past two years to support poor and needy patients requiring medical assistance. He added that 2,938 people in Addanki constituency alone had benefited from the scheme so far, receiving a total of Rs 25.31 crore.
