TTD Additional Executive Officer C.H. Venkaiah Chowdary has directed officials to make comprehensive arrangements for medical services, transportation and police security during the upcoming Srivari Salakatla Brahmotsavam. The Brahmotsavam will be held in Tirumala from September 15 to 23. Against this backdrop, the Additional EO conducted a review meeting with officials from the medical, transport and police departments at his camp office in Tirumala on Thursday evening.

TTD Chief Medical Officer Dr. Kusuma Kumari briefed the Additional EO on the medical facilities planned for devotees. She said the Ashwini Hospital and Apollo Cardiac Centre in Tirumala would provide round-the-clock medical services throughout the festival. Six dispensaries will be established at Vaikuntham Queue Complexes 1 and 2, Gali Gopuram, ATC, Kalyanakatta and PAC-5. Ten first-aid centres will also be made available at PAC-2, Bhashyakarla Sannidhi, Alipiri Rajagopuram, 1500 Steps, Seventh Mile, Srivari Mettu 1200 Steps, Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba Annaprasadam Centre, Srivari Temple, Narayanagiri sheds and the darshan queue lines. In addition, six new medical camps will be established at Ram Bagicha, Sila Thoranam, Papavinasanam, Srivari Seva Sadan, Srivari Mettu and Alipiri Padala Mandapam. A mobile clinic will also operate between Krishna Teja Circle and Gogarbham Circle.

Along with the existing 11 doctors and 139 paramedical personnel, an additional 75 doctors and 60 paramedical staff will be deployed during the Brahmotsavam. A total of 16 ambulances will be kept ready in Tirumala for emergency medical services. The Additional EO instructed officials to ensure that devotees receive immediate medical assistance during emergencies and directed them to maintain adequate stocks of medicines based on the expected crowd. He further instructed officials to coordinate with the police and quickly shift devotees requiring medical attention from the Mada streets to hospitals in a safe manner. Tirumala DSP Vijaya Sekhar was asked to ensure immediate clearance for ambulances on the Mada streets during emergencies. Transport Department GM Ramu was directed to ensure that ambulance drivers remain alert and perform their duties with discipline during emergency situations. VGO Surendra, Ashwini Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. Subba Reddy and other officials attended the review meeting.
