Actress Nayanthara has opened up about how she became part of the much-awaited action thriller Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, starring Yash. Speaking at the film’s trailer launch, she admitted that she was not convinced about joining the project when it was first offered to her.
According to Nayanthara, her initial hesitation stemmed from the film’s large ensemble cast. She was unsure whether the role would have enough depth and significance. However, director Geethu Mohandas encouraged her to at least listen to the complete story before making a final decision.
After hearing Geethu Mohandas’ narration, Nayanthara said she was completely convinced. She praised the director’s storytelling, vision, and clarity, describing Toxic as an extraordinary action thriller that audiences would truly enjoy. She added that the script left a lasting impression on her and made it impossible to say no.
The actress also showered praise on co-star Yash, calling him one of the most dedicated actors she has worked with. She noted that he devoted nearly four and a half years to bringing the project to life, reflecting his passion and commitment to the film.
Interestingly, Nayanthara also made a rare promotional appearance for Toxic, despite usually staying away from film promotions. She revealed that Yash personally called and invited her to the trailer launch, and his request, along with her belief in the film, convinced her to attend the event.
Directed by Geethu Mohandas, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups features an ensemble cast including Yash, Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria, and Rukmini Vasanth. The film is one of the most anticipated Indian releases of the year.
