In Hindu tradition, every auspicious beginning starts with the worship of Lord Ganesha. He is known as Vighneshwara...the remover of obstacles.

According to the Puranas, once Ganesha, through his wisdom, circled his parents Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati instead of the whole world, and earned a divine blessing. Lord Shiva granted that before any ritual, or new endeavor, Ganesha must be worshipped first so that it proceeds without obstacles.

Ganesha is also the embodiment of the sacred sound “Om,” the source of all creation. Every mantra begins with Om, which is why invoking Ganesha marks a perfect beginning.

As the leader of all Ganas...the cosmic energies...Ganesha’s blessings ensure harmony and success in any task.

In yogic philosophy, he resides in the Muladhara Chakra, the foundation of spiritual and physical stability. Awakening this energy is essential for progress in life.

So, let us begin every task by chanting,

“Shuklambaradharam Vishnum…”
