A fresh controversy has once again erupted over President Donald Trump’s proposed White House ballroom project in the United States. The massive 90,000-square-foot structure is planned to include a state-of-the-art hospital and advanced medical facilities, according to the White House.
Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche defended the $400 million project in court, describing it as a “gift to the American people.” However, heritage conservation groups have strongly opposed the plan, saying it would damage the historic structure of the White House.
The issue escalated after the East Wing was reportedly demolished without prior approval to make space for the project. The case has now reached court, where a federal judge has temporarily halted construction. The next hearing in the appeals court is scheduled for June 5.
