A 16-year-old Class 11 student from Uttar Pradesh was allegedly raped inside a moving sleeper bus after she boarded the vehicle seeking help during heavy rain, police said.
The teenager from Mainpuri had left home following a disagreement with her family and was travelling to Noida to meet her cousin. Due to heavy rain and darkness, she reportedly got off the bus at Pari Chowk by mistake.
Police said an empty sleeper bus stopped after she sought help. The driver, Kuldeep, and conductor, Sandeep, allegedly told her the bus was heading towards Noida Sector 63 and allowed her to board.
According to the girl's complaint, the conductor allegedly made inappropriate advances after the bus started moving. She alleged that both the driver and conductor subsequently raped her and threatened to kill her when she resisted.
The bus travelled nearly 30 kilometres towards Kashmere Gate before the teenager was allegedly abandoned on Ring Road near the Kashmere Gate bus terminal.
The terrified girl then approached Kashmere Gate police and reported the incident. Police arrested Kuldeep and Sandeep from a bus parking area in Timarpur and seized the sleeper bus, which has been sent for forensic examination.
Police said the bus had curtains around its berths, which allegedly helped conceal the incident. Further investigation is underway.
