New Delhi: A newly surfaced dossier has alleged a sweeping crackdown in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), claiming that authorities intensified security measures following a wave of anti-government protests that left multiple people dead and dozens injured.
According to the document, tensions escalated after demonstrations organized by activist groups and civil society organizations against economic hardships, governance issues, and political grievances. The dossier alleges that security forces responded with force, leading to fatalities during clashes between protesters and law enforcement personnel. Reports indicate that at least 11 people were killed and more than 70 others injured in recent unrest across the region.
The dossier further claims that authorities deployed additional military and paramilitary personnel across several districts to prevent the spread of protests. Security has reportedly been tightened in sensitive areas amid fears of wider demonstrations and shutdowns.
Another key allegation concerns restrictions on communication services.
