Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay has announced plans to transform the state capital Chennai into a global sports hub. Speaking in the Assembly, the Chief Minister said an Olympic City would be developed under the Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority.

He said a comprehensive plan would be prepared to create modern sports infrastructure and world-class sporting facilities across the city. The objective, he said, is to develop Chennai into a global Olympic city.

The Chief Minister also announced plans to prepare Chennai to host Formula One races. Special racing tracks would be constructed to facilitate international-level motorsport competitions in the city.

CM Vijay said the government would move forward with the goal of transforming Chennai into a world-class sports city in the coming days.
