At least six people, including two children, were killed and four others injured after a bus collided with an autorickshaw in Odisha’s Ganjam district on Friday.

The horrific accident occurred near Ladkapalli Square under the Purushottampur Police Station limits when the speeding bus rammed into the auto carrying devotees headed to the Maa Singhasini shrine.

Three victims died on the spot, while three others succumbed to injuries during treatment. The injured were first admitted to Kodala Community Health Centre before being shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur.

All victims were residents of Erenda village under Chikiti block. Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi announced ₹4 lakh compensation for the families of the deceased, while leaders across the state expressed grief over the heartbreaking incident.
