The death toll in the tragic bus-truck collision on NH-2 near Aurangabad in Bihar has risen to four. Lakshmamma, a 65-year-old pilgrim from Sangam in SPSR Nellore district, succumbed to her injuries at Patna Medical College Hospital in the early hours of Wednesday.
Earlier, three pilgrims were killed on the spot in the accident. Their mortal remains were transported with special arrangements made by the Andhra Pradesh government and reached Nellore on Tuesday night.
Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy said the bodies were flown from Patna to Hyderabad and then to Chennai before being taken to Nellore by road. Meanwhile, a sleeper bus carrying 29 injured and stranded pilgrims has crossed Bhubaneswar and is on its way to Nellore. The State government is closely monitoring medical treatment, transportation, and support for the affected families.
