In the first major Cabinet expansion in Bihar, 32 ministers took oath in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Governor Syed Ata Hasnain administered the oath at a grand ceremony attended by senior NDA leaders including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Health Minister J. P. Nadda.
The expansion saw representation from all NDA alliance partners. The BJP secured 15 ministerial positions, while the JD(U) retained strong representation with 15 ministers, including existing members. Leaders from alliance parties like Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Hindustani Awam Morcha and Rashtriya Lok Morcha were also inducted.
Several prominent leaders returned to the Cabinet, including Sanjay Kumar Singh and Sanjay Kumar Paswan from Chirag Paswan’s LJP(RV). Santosh Kumar Suman, son of Union minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, and Deepak Prakash, son of Upendra Kushwaha, also joined the ministry.
Prime Minister Modi congratulated the new ministers and expressed confidence that the expanded Cabinet would accelerate Bihar’s development. The reshuffle comes amid significant political developments in the state.
