Tamil Nadu has added 300 new buses to its public transportation network as part of the state government’s efforts to modernize transport services and provide better facilities for commuters.
Chief Minister Vijay inaugurated the newly purchased diesel and CNG buses at the Chennai Secretariat by flagging them off. The introduction of these vehicles is aimed at improving the efficiency of state transport corporations and strengthening public mobility across the state.
The newly launched buses have been allocated to seven government transport divisions, excluding the State Express Transport Corporation (SETC), which operates long-distance services.
Officials said the addition of these buses will help expand services, improve passenger convenience, and support the modernization of Tamil Nadu’s public transportation infrastructure.
Following the inauguration ceremony, Chief Minister Vijay travelled on one of the new buses and inspected the facilities. The initiative is part of the government’s broader focus on providing safer, more comfortable, and efficient transport services for the people.
