The Union Cabinet has approved two new semiconductor manufacturing units with a total investment exceeding ₹3,936 crore under the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM).
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that the projects include India’s first commercial mini/micro-LED display manufacturing facility based on Gallium Nitride (GaN) technology, along with a semiconductor packaging unit.
The initiative is expected to significantly strengthen India’s semiconductor ecosystem and accelerate the country’s goal of emerging as a global semiconductor hub by 2032.
