A major case of impersonation has come to light in Khagaria district of Bihar, where police arrested a man for allegedly posing as an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer and falsely claiming to be an undercover agent working under National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.
According to the police, the accused used his fake identity to impress people and gain influence. He allegedly displayed "IAS" and "Government of India" signboards on his private luxury vehicles to make his claims appear genuine.
During a raid at his residence, police seized a Tesla car, an SUV, over 31 litres of imported liquor, multiple mobile phones, bank documents, and several other luxury items. Investigators are also examining the source of these assets and whether they were acquired through fraudulent activities.
Police said the accused frequently introduced himself as an IAS officer with direct access to senior government officials and claimed to be carrying out confidential assignments under NSA Ajit Doval. Investigators are verifying whether he used these claims to cheat people or obtain financial and other benefits.
A case has been registered against the accused under relevant sections of the law, and further investigations are underway to determine if others were part of the alleged impersonation and fraud network.
