Hyderabad golfer Mohammed Azhar clinched his maiden professional title by winning the Kolar Open at Zion Hills Golf County near Bengaluru.

Azhar carded a one-under 71 in the final round to finish with a total of nine-under 279 across four rounds (70-68-70-71), securing a two-shot victory in the ₹1 crore tournament. He received a winner’s cheque of ₹15 lakh.

The 27-year-old, who turned professional in 2020, began the final round two shots behind Delhi's Shaurya Bhattacharya. Despite challenging conditions involving wind and rain, Azhar remained patient and consistent throughout the final round.

Azhar produced key birdies at the second and fourth holes before making one of the highlights of his round with a 30–35-foot birdie putt on the 12th hole.

Chandigarh's Angad Cheema and Delhi's Shaurya Bhattacharya finished joint second at seven-under 281. Bhattacharya, who led going into the final round, lost ground after consecutive double bogeys on the 17th and 18th holes.

The victory also lifted Azhar seven places from 17th to 10th in the 2026 DP World PGTI Order of Merit. His season earnings have now reached ₹35,14,675. His previous best result on the tour was a tied-second finish at the Boulders Classic in April.
