A shocking incident unfolded aboard a Batik Air flight from Kuala Lumpur to Kochi, triggering panic among passengers.
According to authorities, a passenger identified as Jamsheer Athanikkal from Kerala allegedly attempted to open the aircraft's emergency exit while the flight was in the air. Officials also claim he damaged the emergency exit window panel.
Cabin crew and fellow passengers quickly intervened, preventing a potentially dangerous situation. Videos of the incident have gone viral on social media, showing the dramatic moments inside the aircraft.
After the flight landed safely at Kochi International Airport, CISF personnel detained the passenger and handed him over to Nedumbassery Police.
Police have registered a case, alleging that his actions endangered passenger safety and threatened others onboard. An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
