Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to achieve another major milestone in Indian politics. On June 10, he will become the longest continuously serving elected Prime Minister of India, surpassing Jawaharlal Nehru’s record of 4,398 consecutive days in office. By then, Modi will also cross 9,000 days as an elected head of government, including his tenure as Gujarat Chief Minister.
This year, Modi is also set to complete 25 years in public office. He already holds several records, including being the longest-serving non-Congress Prime Minister and the first non-Congress leader to head two majority governments. Supporters credit him for economic growth, poverty reduction, infrastructure expansion and strengthening India’s global standing. His leadership continues to dominate the political landscape, with analysts predicting that more records could follow in the coming years.
