Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi intensified his attack on the Centre’s nationwide rollout of E20 petrol, calling it a “very big issue” and alleging that it is affecting vehicle owners and increasing their financial burden.
In a video message, Gandhi examined a car and claimed that the E20 rollout was damaging vehicles, scooters, and impacting people across the country. He said the Congress would launch a major campaign against the issue.
“Normally, we say Daal mein kuch kaala hai (there is something wrong), but here puri daal hi kaali hai (the entire thing is wrong),” Gandhi said.
He accused the government of failing to follow the right sequence in implementing the policy and alleged that the move was causing losses to consumers.
The BJP, however, responded on X, claiming that the vehicle shown in Gandhi’s video was itself E20-compliant.
