The Tamil Nadu government has signed 97 investment agreements worth ₹67,452 crore, including 16 new projects by overseas investors valued at ₹15,050 crore ($1.58 billion), as part of its latest drive to strengthen manufacturing and attract global investment. The projects are expected to generate more than one lakh employment opportunities across multiple sectors.

Among the major foreign investors are France-based Saint-Gobain, which will invest ₹2,000 crore in a new manufacturing facility and the expansion of its Kanchipuram plant, U.S.-based Super Micro Computer, and Daimler India Commercial Vehicles, which plans to invest ₹4,000 crore to expand its Chennai manufacturing facility.

The investment agreements also include commitments from leading Indian companies such as Titan, which will invest ₹1,000 crore to expand its operations, and MAS Holdings of Sri Lanka, which has announced an investment of ₹880 crore. Other investors include the Hinduja Group, Agnikul Cosmos, and Ultraviolette.

The investment conclave is the first major event held under the leadership of Chief Minister Joseph Vijay, whose government has pledged to strengthen Tamil Nadu's position as one of India's leading manufacturing and industrial hubs. Chennai continues to be a major automobile and electronics manufacturing centre, hosting facilities of companies such as Hyundai, Renault, TVS Motor and key Apple suppliers.
