Telangana Canada Association Bathukamma Festival 2026: Toronto Telugu Community to Celebrate Telangana’s Floral Festival

TCA’s Bathukamma Sambaralu will bring the Telangana community together in Etobicoke on October 17, featuring Bathukamma celebrations, a raffle, vendor stalls and a potluck.

The Telangana Canada Association (TCA) is preparing to celebrate one of Telangana’s most distinctive cultural festivals with its Bathukamma Festival 2026 in Etobicoke, Ontario.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 17, beginning at 5 PM, at Michael Power – St. Joseph High School. The celebration is expected to bring together Telangana families and community members from the Greater Toronto Area for an evening centred on culture, tradition and community participation.

Bathukamma is widely regarded as an important cultural symbol of Telangana. The festival celebrates flowers, nature and the collective spirit of Telangana women and communities.

Traditional Bathukamma Celebrations

According to TCA, its annual Bathukamma events bring families together with their floral Bathukammas. Participants traditionally sing Bathukamma songs, dance and perform kolatam in circles around the floral arrangements.

TCA also conducts prizes connected with the Bathukamma arrangements, including recognition based on factors such as size and the flowers used. Telangana food is another regular part of the celebrations.

The 2026 event poster also promotes a Bathukamma raffle draw, with attendees invited to bring their Bathukamma by 7 PM to enter. The poster lists a one-gram gold prize and one-ounce silver prize, along with consolation prizes.

Raffle, Vendors and Potluck

Beyond the main Bathukamma festivities, this year's event will include several community activities.

A vendor stall section will provide businesses and sellers an opportunity to showcase their products. TCA has previously used its cultural events to support local businesses by providing stalls for displaying and selling items.

The event will also feature a potluck celebration, encouraging attendees to bring a dish and share food with fellow community members. This adds a social element to the festival, giving families an opportunity to connect beyond the traditional celebrations.
