The Osmania Gandhi Kakatiya Telangana Medical Alumni Association of America (OGKTMA) is hosting its 39th Annual Convention & Scientific Assembly from September 18 to 20 at the Hyatt Regency Frisco – Dallas in Frisco, Texas.
The three-day convention brings together physicians associated with Osmania, Gandhi, Kakatiya and Telangana medical colleges for continuing medical education, professional networking, alumni reunions and cultural activities. OGKTMA says its alumni network includes more than 8,000 physicians across the United States.
Four-hour CME scientific program
A major highlight of the convention is the CME Scientific Session scheduled for Saturday, September 19. The program offers four hours of continuing medical education covering medical, wellness and professional-ethics topics.
The scientific sessions include:
7:30–8:30 AM: Yoga and Meditation – Bridging the Ancient Wisdom and Clinical Evidence — Dr. Hanmantha Rao Mole
8:30–9:30 AM: “Now What” — Dr. Venkata Nakta Raju, focusing on work-life balance, work ethics, health, wellness and attitudes toward life and work
9:30–9:50 AM: Coffee and tea break, along with vendor stalls and exhibits
9:50–10:50 AM: Gut-Brain Axis, Microbiome and Mental Health — Dr. Subbarao Bollepalli
10:50–11:50 AM: Ethics in Medicine – Principles, Practice & Professional Integrity — Kemisha Nordstrom, J.D., TMB
Reunions, gala and cultural programs
Beyond the scientific sessions, the convention schedule includes an OGKTMA general body meeting, breakout sessions organized by medical colleges, alumni networking and class reunions.
Saturday's program will conclude with an evening gala followed by a live performance from Infusion Band from Hyderabad, scheduled from 9 PM to midnight. The convention will conclude on Sunday, September 20, with a brunch at Grandion Event Venue in Frisco.
Friday's opening schedule includes registration from 2:30 PM, an informal dinner with live music from 6 PM to 9 PM, followed by a networking and social gathering.
OGKTMA's educational and community initiatives
Founded in 1982, OGKTMA describes its mission as bringing together graduates of Osmania, Gandhi, Kakatiya and Telangana medical colleges for scientific, educational, cultural and charitable activities.
The organization also supports medical education, healthcare initiatives and community programs, including medical equipment and supply drives, scholarships, mentorship and healthcare-related projects in Telangana.
According to OGKTMA, the 2026 convention is expected to attract more than 350 physicians and will combine scientific education with opportunities for alumni to reconnect and participate in community activities.
