Bangladesh stunned Australia with an emphatic 86-run victory via the DLS method in the first ODI in Dhaka, taking a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. Returning to international cricket after four years, Mosaddek Hossain starred with an unbeaten career-best 86 and also claimed two wickets to earn Player of the Match honors.

Bangladesh posted 284 runs, helped by half-centuries from Tanzid Hasan (54) and Najmul Hossain Shanto (67). Chasing 285, Australia collapsed early, losing two wickets for just two runs. Fast bowler Nahid Rana ripped through the batting lineup with four wickets, while Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman struck early.
