Former India selector and wicketkeeper Saba Karim has shared his views on India's senior stars ahead of the 2027 ODI World Cup. Karim said that Virat Kohli is almost certain to be in India's World Cup plans because of his exceptional fitness, consistency, and hunger for runs.
However, he believes Rohit Sharma will need to do significant “heavy lifting” over the next year to secure his place in the squad. Karim stressed that Rohit must maintain top fitness and strong performances to remain a key part of India's plans.
Kohli has also stated that he will play the 2027 World Cup only if he feels he can still contribute meaningfully to the team.
