Delhi Capitals’ playoff hopes in IPL 2026 are hanging by a thread, and the poor form of star spinner Kuldeep Yadav has become a major concern. Former India cricketer Subramaniam Badrinath criticised DC captain Axar Patel for not using Kuldeep properly during the season.

Kuldeep has managed only seven wickets in 10 matches while conceding runs at an economy rate above 10. Badrinath said the spinner was often used at the wrong time, even bowling the 20th over in one game, while Axar himself avoided bowling.

“At a time when a key bowler is struggling, the captain must back him and use him smartly,” Badrinath said, adding that both Kuldeep and Axar have not been at their best this season.

Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals batter David Miller came out in support of Kuldeep ahead of the clash against Kolkata Knight Riders. Miller called him a “match-winner” and admitted that he never enjoys facing the wrist-spinner.

With four consecutive home defeats, Delhi Capitals now face a must-win situation to keep their playoff hopes alive in IPL 2026.
