Indian wicketkeeper-batter KS Bharat has announced his retirement from international cricket, bringing the curtain down on his journey with Team India. The 32-year-old shared the news through an emotional Instagram post, expressing gratitude to his family, teammates, coaches, and fans.
Bharat represented India in seven Test matches and was a member of the squad that reached the World Test Championship Final in 2023. His final international appearance came against England in Visakhapatnam in February 2024.
During his Test career, Bharat scored 221 runs and was widely appreciated for his wicketkeeping skills, taking 18 catches and completing one stumping. In his retirement message, Bharat described representing India as the greatest honour of his life and thanked his parents and sister for supporting his dream. His international career may have been brief, but his dedication and commitment to Indian cricket will be remembered.
