The Dindigul Dragons produced a sensational performance in the Tamil Nadu Premier League. In a 15-over clash against Salem Spartans at the NPR College ground on Friday, rain delayed the start, but once the match began, the Dragons launched a stunning batting assault.
Batting first, Dindigul got off to a flying start through Shivam Singh and V.K. Vineeth, who put together 70 runs in just four overs. Captain B. Indrajith and Vimal Khumar then took the attack to the Spartans bowlers, adding 62 runs from only 24 balls for the fourth wicket.
Indrajith was the star of the innings, smashing a breathtaking 73 off just 25 balls, including three fours and eight sixes. He continued the assault with Hunny Saini, with the pair hammering 32 runs in the 13th over.
Dindigul eventually finished with a mammoth 239 for six in 15 overs, setting Salem Spartans a target of 240.
However, the Spartans struggled badly in the chase and never looked in control. The Dindigul bowlers kept the pressure on throughout.
In the end, Dindigul Dragons sealed a commanding 81-run victory, with captain B. Indrajith’s explosive 73 off 25 balls emerging as the biggest highlight of the match.
