Under the leadership of the Telangana state committees of the Students’ Federation of India (SFI), Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), and All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA), protesters burnt an effigy of BJP leader and Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar at RTC Cross Roads in Hyderabad.
The organisations strongly condemned the alleged incident involving Bandi Sanjay’s son, Bandi Bhagirath, accusing him of sexually assaulting a minor girl, threatening her later, and attempting to settle the case. They alleged that such actions reflect a disturbing trend of protecting accused individuals in crimes against women.
