Gandhi Hospital has been designated as Telangana’s main referral centre for suspected Ebola cases. A special 20-bed isolation ward with oxygen and ventilator support has been set up following Union Health Ministry guidelines.

Hospital Superintendent Dr. N. Vani said the isolation unit was created similar to Covid preparedness protocols and may soon be shifted for better containment management. Dr. Vamshi Krishna has been appointed as the nodal officer for Ebola coordination.

Meanwhile, surveillance has been intensified at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad. Passengers arriving from Ebola-affected African nations like Uganda, South Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo are being closely monitored. Authorities say emergency testing arrangements will be made if any suspected case is detected.
