A 24-year-old private employee was killed in a road accident near Palamakula in Shamshabad on Monday evening. His friend, who was travelling with him on the motorcycle, suffered serious injuries in the incident.
The deceased was identified as Kondurg Venkatesh, a resident of Balapur in Ranga Reddy district.
How the Accident Happened
According to Shamshabad police, Venkatesh was riding a Yamaha motorcycle with his friend Likki Karthik Reddy as the pillion rider.
The two were travelling from Mamidipally towards Jadcherla. At around 5:20 pm, about 200 metres after Palamakula, Venkatesh reportedly attempted to overtake another vehicle.
He subsequently lost control of the motorcycle and fell onto the road. A lorry allegedly travelling at high speed then ran over him, resulting in his death at the spot.
Friend Seriously Injured
Karthik Reddy sustained serious injuries in the accident and was taken for medical treatment.
Police Register Case
Shamshabad police registered a case against the lorry driver and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
