Telangana Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said the Congress government has sanctioned three lakh houses under Phase-One of the Indiramma Housing Scheme. Nearly 2.9 lakh houses have already been grounded, while around 50 thousand houses are completed and beneficiaries have performed housewarming ceremonies. The minister said over two lakh houses are under construction and will be completed within two months. He also announced that Phase-Two of the scheme will be launched in Adilabad district on June second.
Srinivas Reddy stated that Telangana has become a model state by providing five lakh rupees with one hundred percent subsidy for housing construction for the poor. He directed officials to speed up infrastructure works in two-bedroom housing colonies and ensure uninterrupted supply of free sand, electricity, drinking water and drainage facilities for beneficiaries.
