A major burglary took place at the Sonovision electronics showroom in Khammam city early Thursday morning. According to police, three unidentified men arrived in a car bearing an Andhra Pradesh registration number and broke the showroom's shutter locks to gain entry.
The theft occurred around 3:30 a.m. An alarm was triggered, alerting representatives at the company's Vijayawada headquarters, who immediately informed local showroom staff. However, by the time employees reached the spot, the burglars had already stolen nearly 160 mobile phones, including 25 iPhones, along with chargers and adapters worth approximately ₹1 crore.
Showroom staff attempted to block the suspects' vehicle and chased them on a motorcycle, but the thieves managed to escape towards the Wyra route. Police Commissioner Sunil Dutt visited the crime scene and directed officers to expedite the investigation. Special teams have been formed, and police are examining CCTV footage and forensic evidence to trace the culprits.
