The Telangana government has appointed CV Anand as the new Director General of Police (DGP), as current DGP Shivdhar Reddy is set to retire on the 30th of this month.
A 1991-batch IPS officer, CV Anand was serving as Special Chief Secretary in the Home Department. He will now take charge as Head of the Police Force.
He has also served twice as Hyderabad Police Commissioner.
Among the three officers shortlisted by UPSC, CV Anand—being the senior-most—was selected for the post.
