India has achieved a major milestone in defense technology. The country’s first indigenous wire-guided heavyweight torpedo has now entered the production stage. Developed by Bharat Dynamics Limited in partnership with the Naval Science and Technological Laboratory, this advanced system strengthens the Indian Navy’s underwater combat capabilities.
This torpedo can be guided through a wire even after launch, allowing precise targeting of enemy submarines and ships. It has been developed in both practice and combat versions, making it useful for training as well as real missions.
This achievement marks a significant step towards self-reliance in defense and enhances India’s position in modern naval warfare.
