The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet has approved the establishment of Sri City International University, or SIU, a new-age institution designed to combine academic learning with real-world industry experience. The university will be set up by the Sri City Education Foundation with an investment of around Rs 250 crore.
Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh is expected to inaugurate the temporary campus on July 2. Unlike conventional universities, SIU will introduce internships and workplace exposure from the very first year, allowing students to gain practical experience throughout their studies.
Admissions for the 2026–27 academic year will begin with B.Tech programmes in Computer Science and Manufacturing Engineering, along with BBA courses in Finance & Accounting and Digital Marketing & Communications. The university will also integrate artificial intelligence into teaching and workplace applications, aiming to create industry-ready graduates from day one.
