Producer Bunny Vasu reacted strongly to the ongoing percentage-sharing controversy in the film industry. He said cinema revenues have dropped drastically as audiences are no longer coming to theatres in large numbers. Bunny Vasu stated that the huge collections of big films are not due to increased footfalls, but mainly because of higher ticket prices and rising costs.

He added that the condition of small films is even worse, with their revenues falling sharply. Instead of fighting over how to divide the reduced earnings, the industry should focus on identifying why audiences are staying away from theatres and work on correcting those issues. He also said both producers and single-screen exhibitors are suffering losses, and understanding the root cause of the crisis is more important than arguing over revenue sharing.
