Before Drishyam 2 became a major box-office success, actress Tabu admits she had her doubts about the film’s chances.
The Malayalam version, starring Mohanlal, had already been released and seen by many viewers. That left Tabu and her friends wondering whether audiences would be interested in watching the Hindi remake.
“Who would watch it?” was the question they had at the time, Tabu recalled.
But the film soon proved them wrong. Released in 2022, Drishyam 2, starring Ajay Devgn and Tabu, received a strong response from audiences and went on to become a major commercial success.
Its gripping story, suspense and unexpected twists helped the film connect with viewers, despite the Malayalam original already being available.
Now, with the Drishyam franchise returning, Tabu’s recollection makes the film’s journey even more interesting.
