Adivi Sesh’s much-awaited spy thriller ‘G2’ is reportedly gearing up for a grand theatrical release in 2027. The film is the sequel to the successful spy thriller ‘Goodachari’. It was originally scheduled to hit theatres on May 1 this year, but the release was postponed due to delays in production and other reasons.
Directed by Vinay Kumar Sirigineedi, ‘G2’ is being mounted on a massive international scale. The film has reportedly been shot for around 150 days across six countries, with 23 elaborate sets created for the project. The makers are aiming to bring a larger-than-life spy thriller experience and redefine the genre in Indian cinema.
Wamiqa Gabbi will make her entry as Agent 116, adding to the curiosity surrounding the film. After earning recognition with her recent film ‘DC’, her role as a spy in ‘G2’ has generated considerable buzz.
Bollywood star Emraan Hashmi is also playing a key role in the film. ‘G2’ marks his Telugu debut, although the delay in its production meant that he reached Telugu audiences earlier with ‘OG’.
Murali Sharma, Supriya Yarlagadda and Madhushalini are also part of the cast. Produced by T.G. Vishwa Prasad and Abhishek Agarwal under People Media Factory, Abhishek Agarwal Arts and AK Entertainments, the film is being planned as a pan-India release in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.
According to reports, the makers are now considering February 5, 2027 as the new release date. An official announcement regarding the theatrical release is expected soon.
