Stronger political trust, economic partnership and continued engagement between India and Afghanistan will benefit both countries and contribute to regional stability and prosperity, Afghan Charge d'Affaires Noor Ahmed Noor said.

Highlighting various aspects of bilateral ties, Noor said diplomatic engagement between the two countries has expanded in recent years, with embassies and consulates becoming more active and high-level delegations visiting each other's capitals.

He said constructive understanding has developed between India and Afghanistan in the political, economic and humanitarian spheres.

Recalling the long historical ties between the two countries, Noor said Afghan cities such as Kabul, Herat and Kandahar had welcomed Indian traders and caravans, while Indian cities benefited from the influence of Afghan scholars, poets and Sufis.

Noor also sought India's support in protecting and respecting Afghanistan's international rights. He said Afghanistan's foreign policy is based on balanced engagement, mutual respect, non-interference and shared interests.

He added that Afghanistan seeks positive, constructive, pragmatic and sustainable relations with all countries. According to Noor, stability in Afghanistan would create greater opportunities for trade, energy, transit and security across the region.
