Ukraine launched a massive drone offensive against Russia, with Russian officials calling it one of the largest air attacks since the war began. Nearly 1,000 drones were reportedly launched from Saturday night to Sunday morning.
According to Russia’s Defense Ministry, 822 Ukrainian drones were shot down across the country. Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said around 600 drones were heading toward Moscow, while 201 were intercepted over the Moscow region.
In Podolsk, a drone struck a house, killing an 83-year-old man and injuring several others. Large warehouses belonging to Wildberries and another facility were also destroyed. Huge flames and thick smoke were seen rising into the sky.
More than 150 drones reportedly targeted three towns in the Rostov region, killing five people and damaging homes and a railway station.
Meanwhile, Russia also launched missile and drone attacks on Ukraine. Two people were killed in Kryvyi Rih, while additional casualties were reported in the Zaporizhzhia region.
With both sides intensifying their attacks, the Russia-Ukraine war continues to escalate.
