Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed gratitude for the greetings and blessings he has received on his 76th birthday. Reacting specifically to the ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ initiative, Modi said the gesture of affection had deeply touched him and that every blessing strengthened his resolve to serve the country with greater dedication.

In a social media post on Thursday, Modi thanked people for their affection and blessings.
He described ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ as a special expression of affection and said that the blessings strengthened his commitment to serving India with greater devotion.
Diyas lit across the country
The BJP had appealed to people to participate in the ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ initiative on September 17 by lighting lamps at their homes. BJP leaders and workers also participated in organised lamp-lighting events in several parts of the country.
Seva Sankalp Abhiyan launched
The birthday celebrations coincide with the launch of the BJP's month-long ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, which also marks 25 years of Modi's public life.
The campaign, scheduled from September 17 to October 17, includes activities such as blood donation drives, health initiatives, cleanliness programmes and public outreach events.
Events held in several states
Lamp-lighting and other programmes were organised in several states, including Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. Events were also planned in Delhi and other parts of the country as part of the birthday-related programme.
