Doval Arrives in Beijing
National Security Adviser Ajit Doval arrived in Beijing on Monday for a two-day visit to participate in the latest round of India-China boundary talks.
Doval is visiting China at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. He is also scheduled to call on Chinese Vice President Han Zheng during the visit.
25th Round of Special Representatives' Talks
Doval and Wang Yi serve as the designated Special Representatives for the India-China boundary negotiations.
They will co-chair the 25th round of Special Representatives' talks in Beijing on August 25. China's Foreign Ministry has officially confirmed the meeting.

The talks are taking place ahead of the BRICS summit in New Delhi in September.
There has also been speculation about Chinese President Xi Jinping's possible visit to India for the summit, although Beijing has not yet officially confirmed his travel plans.

India has repeatedly emphasised that peace and tranquillity along the border are essential for stable bilateral relations.
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar recently reiterated that maintaining peace in border areas is a prerequisite for improving ties with China.
