The Election Commission has launched Electoral Literacy Clubs (ELC) 2.0 to familiarise young citizens with India's electoral system.

The programme is designed for schools, colleges and universities.

The initiative is particularly aimed at young and first-time voters, helping them understand how elections work and encouraging meaningful participation.

ECINet to Support Digital Electoral Literacy
ELC 2.0 will use the ECINet digital platform to provide election-related information and services.
The Election Commission plans to develop a nationwide network of digitally enabled Electoral Literacy Clubs across educational institutions.
Role of Political Party Agents
Political party representatives play a role at different stages of elections.
Booth Level Agents participate in the electoral-roll process, Polling Agents observe polling and Counting Agents participate in the counting process.
The ECI says this stakeholder participation provides additional scrutiny throughout the electoral process.
Media Conference on Electoral Transparency
The Election Commission also organised its first All India Media Conference 2026 in July.
More than 380 media professionals participated. The ECI demonstrated electoral-roll preparation, polling and counting procedures and explained the responsibilities of party-appointed agents.
