Doctors in Uttar Pradesh have successfully removed what is being described as the world's largest gallbladder stone through surgery. The rare procedure was performed at the Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences.

The stone, weighing nearly 200 grams and measuring about 14 centimeters in length and 4 centimeters in width, was found in a 62-year-old woman who had been suffering from severe abdominal pain and digestive problems for a long time.

After detailed examinations, doctors identified the unusually large gallstone and decided to operate. A medical team led by Dr. Kannaiya Lal Chaudhary successfully removed the stone using a minimally invasive laparoscopic procedure.

Doctors described the operation as highly challenging due to the stone’s massive size. Following the successful surgery, the patient is reported to be recovering well.

The university’s Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Ajay Singh, congratulated the medical team for achieving this remarkable feat, which could become a significant milestone in medical history.
