Kiran Netha Pasunuri, a 41-year-old Indian-origin man, has been arrested in Garner, North Carolina, in connection with a serious child abuse case involving his 2-year-old child.
According to law enforcement authorities, the child sustained severe and life-threatening injuries, including major head trauma and spinal damage, which required emergency medical treatment and surgery. Medical reports cited in the investigation indicate that the injuries were extensive and required intensive care intervention.
Police allege that the incident occurred in early June, and the child was later hospitalized after the severity of the injuries became apparent. Authorities further stated that the accused has been charged with multiple felony counts related to intentional and negligent child abuse causing serious bodily injury. In some reports, additional charges connected to attempted murder have also been mentioned.
