The American Telugu Association (ATA) successfully hosted the Sayyandi Padam, Jhummandi Nadam, and Beauty Pageant Competitions in New Jersey, bringing together talented participants, community leaders, families, and supporters for a memorable celebration of culture, creativity, and talent.
The event witnessed tremendous enthusiasm from the Telugu community, with hundreds of participants and guests attending throughout the day. These competitions provided a vibrant platform for individuals of all ages to showcase their talents while celebrating Telugu culture, heritage, and traditions.
The day began with Jhummandi Nadam, ATA’s prestigious singing competition. Talented singers from across the region captivated the audience with their outstanding performances and musical abilities. Following an exciting series of performances, winners were announced and honored during a special awards ceremony.
The celebrations continued with Sayyandi Padam, ATA’s dance competition, where participants presented an impressive variety of classical, folk, and contemporary dance performances. The competition highlighted the creativity, dedication, and artistic excellence of the performers. The event concluded with the recognition and awards presentation for the winners.
The grand finale of the day was the highly anticipated ATA Beauty Pageant Competition. The pageant celebrated confidence, personality, leadership, cultural awareness, and stage presence. Contestants showcased their talents, communication skills, and commitment to preserving cultural values. The evening culminated in an exciting crowning ceremony and the announcement of the pageant winners.
The event was graced by ATA leadership, including ATA President Jayanth Challa, ATA Convention Convener Sreedhar Banala, Convention Coordinator Ravi Challa, along with several committee chairs, community leaders, sponsors, and distinguished guests. Their presence and encouragement inspired participants and reaffirmed ATA’s commitment to nurturing talent, preserving culture, and strengthening community engagement.
ATA leadership commended the Beauty Pageant Chair, Sayyandi Padam Chair, Jhummandi Nadam Chair, committee members, judges, volunteers, sponsors, and local coordinators for their tireless dedication and exceptional teamwork. Their meticulous planning and execution ensured a seamless and memorable experience for all participants and attendees.
The successful event generated tremendous excitement and momentum leading up to the 19th ATA Convention 2026, scheduled to take place in Baltimore, Maryland, from July 31 through August 2, 2026.
