A special literary festival celebrating the timeless legacy of Kavikulaalankara Veturi Sundararama Murthy, one of the most celebrated lyricists in Telugu cinema, is set to take place in Frisco, Texas. Titled “Veturi Sahithi Mahotsavam,” the event is being organized jointly by Veturi’s literary admirers and Shubham Foundation.
The event will be held on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at 3:30 PM at the Memorial High School Auditorium, 12300 Frisco Street, Frisco, TX 75033.
The festival has been specially designed to showcase the richness of Veturi’s cinematic and non-cinematic literary works. The program will feature special dance performances based on Veturi’s songs, a musical presentation, and literary tributes highlighting his remarkable contribution to Telugu literature and music.
A major highlight of the event will be the launch of eight song collections featuring Veturi’s cinematic and non-cinematic compositions.
Prominent Guests
Renowned Telugu poet and popular film lyricist Jonnavittula Ramalingeswara Rao will attend the event as the Chief Guest.
M. Nageswara Rao, Editor of Eenadu Daily, will participate as the Guest of Honour. Vamaraja Satyamurthy, former president of the Singapore Telugu Society, poet and social activist, will also attend as a Special Guest.
Dr. Prasad Thotakura will preside over the event.
Special Attraction: Dance and Musical Performances
Several accomplished artists and dance gurus will come together to present Veturi’s literary brilliance through dance and music. Guru Smt. Sheelatha Suri, Guru Smt. Raga Sindhura Puttamaneni, Guru Smt. Srivani Yaddanapudi, and Guru Smt. Manda Hemamalini Chavali, among others, will contribute to the dance performances.
The literary and musical segments will feature Santosh Bhujankar, Chandrasekhar Muddukuri, Kumari Sahithi Kolluraju, Shreyas Noor, Revathi Kolluraju, Janaki Shankar, and others.
A dedicated musical team, including the music coordinator, keyboard artists, keyboard and guitar performers, percussion musicians, sound engineer, and technical crew, will work behind the scenes to bring Veturi’s iconic songs alive on stage.
The musical presentation of Veturi’s timeless songs is expected to be one of the key highlights of the festival.
Free Entry, Pass Required
Admission to the event is free, but an entry pass is mandatory for access to the auditorium, according to the organizers.
Organizers have invited Telugu literary, music, and cultural enthusiasts from the Dallas–Frisco area to attend in large numbers and celebrate the extraordinary literary legacy of Veturi Sundararama Murthy.
