Team India’s young opener Abhishek Sharma produced a sensational batting display in the third T20I against Afghanistan in Delhi. From the moment he walked in, Abhishek took on the bowlers and smashed a stunning century in just 30 balls, creating a new record in Indian T20 cricket.
Abhishek went berserk with 9 fours and 10 sixes. He raced to his half-century in just 16 balls and then shifted gears even further, reaching the three-figure mark in only 30 deliveries.
With this century, Abhishek Sharma set the record for the fastest T20I century by an Indian batter. The previous record belonged to Rohit Sharma, who scored a 35-ball century against Sri Lanka in 2017. Abhishek bettered Rohit’s record by five balls.
His 30-ball century also ranks among the fastest hundreds in international T20 cricket. Among players from Test-playing nations, Abhishek now holds the record for the fastest T20I century.
At Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium, Abhishek’s power-hitting sent the crowd into a frenzy. With boundaries and sixes raining all around the ground, the young opener once again showcased his explosive style and etched his name into the record books of Indian cricket.
