The Central Government has approved ₹3,825.31 crore for Telangana under the new VB-G-RAM-G rural employment scheme, which guarantees 125 days of work annually to rural households, up from 100 days under MGNREGS.

Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy said the scheme will begin in July with a 60:40 Centre-State funding ratio. He urged the Telangana government to quickly issue the required notification and release its share of funds.

Beneficiaries will receive employment guarantee cards and weekly wage payments, while delayed wages will attract interest. The Centre has also sanctioned 8.5 crore workdays for Telangana under MGNREGS for 2026-27.
