BRS working president KTR has extended his support to the ongoing agitation by polytechnic students in Telangana. He urged the state government to immediately withdraw Government Order (GO) MS No. 97, which has been opposed by students.
KTR expressed concern that the order could create uncertainty over the education and future career prospects of thousands of polytechnic students across the state. He urged the government to consider the students' concerns and take steps to address their grievances.
Meanwhile, polytechnic students have been staging protests across Telangana against the proposed changes under GO 97. Students have raised objections to proposals involving the restructuring or integration of government polytechnic colleges with other technical and skill-development institutions.
Students fear that such changes could affect the identity and structure of three-year diploma courses, as well as future higher-education opportunities such as lateral entry into BTech programmes.
Student organisations have indicated that they will intensify their agitation if the government fails to address their concerns. KTR said his party would continue to support the students' movement.
